چکیده

Improvement in the nutritive value of corn stover after solid-state fermentation with Pleurotus ostreatus is reported. Two ruminally cannulated dairy cows were used an vitro study arranged a 2 × 3 factorial design four replicates using P. ostreatus-treated stover. The increase crude protein (58.5%) and ash (25.8%) contents treated significantly higher (p < 0.001) than control. Results suggest potential microbial synthesis due to consistent mass yield (106–681%), irrespective incubation time. fiber components stover, except lignin, reduced 0.05), non-fiber carbohydrates increased by 118% samples. There was significant both dry matter disappearance (40.9–240%) total VFA (5.85–11.2%). Treatment time interaction for propionate production (9.37–14.0%), indicating that rumen pathway preferred. Acetate concentration (1.76–4.01%), which also resulted 7.09–11.42% decrease A:P ratio. Overall, results showed improved increasing its energetic values, protein, mass, volatile fatty acid concentrations.

Comparative Study on the Growth and Yield of Pleurotus Ostreatus Mushroom on Lignocellulosic by- Products

The edible mushroom Pleurotus ostreatus has been studied as a potential crop to reduce agricultural solid wastes and increase mushroom production. P. ostreatus cultivated on various agricultural wastes singly i.e. rice straw (RS), rice husk (RH) wheat straw (WH), barley straw (BS), and cotton wastes (CW). The biological efficiency (B.E) was 25.61, 9.51, 22.6, 21.628 and 25.78 % while rounding u...

Some lignocellulosic wastes used as raw material in cultivation of the Pleurotus ostreatus culture mushroom

Yield values, diameters and numbers of fruit bodies obtained from the cultivation of Pleurotus ostreatus mushrooms were determined and the effects of different substrate combinations on productivity were investigated. Wastes of some lignocellulosic materials such as leaves of hazelnut (LH), leaves of tilia (LT) and leaves of European aspen (LEA), wheat straw (WS), sawdust (S) waste paper (WP) w...

Degradation of Green Polyethylene by Pleurotus ostreatus

We studied the biodegradation of green polyethylene (GP) by Pleurotus ostreatus. The GP was developed from renewable raw materials to help to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases. However, little information regarding the biodegradation of GP discarded in the environment is available. P. ostreatus is a lignocellulolytic fungus that has been used in bioremediation processes for agroindustria...

Iron bioaccumulation in mycelium of Pleurotus ostreatus

Pleurotus ostreatus is able to bioaccumulate several metals in its cell structures; however, there are no reports on its capacity to bioaccumulate iron. The objective of this study was to evaluate cultivation variables to increase iron bioaccumulation in P. ostreatus mycelium. A full factorial design and a central composite design were utilized to evaluate the effect of the following variables:...

Redundancy among manganese peroxidases in Pleurotus ostreatus.

Manganese peroxidases (MnPs) are key players in the ligninolytic system of white rot fungi. In Pleurotus ostreatus (the oyster mushroom) these enzymes are encoded by a gene family comprising nine members, mnp1 to -9 (mnp genes). Mn(2+) amendment to P. ostreatus cultures results in enhanced degradation of recalcitrant compounds (such as the azo dye orange II) and lignin. In Mn(2+)-amended glucos...
